Working pretty well so far. Was easy to assemble and has held up for a few trips to work and back, might replace the drawstring with a newer one but works fine as is.
The bag is very spacious, and good quality. Being surplus of course it needs a little care, but overall very happy with this.
It's a great rucksack and I'm sure it will last me a long time. On the other hand, as with other classical low-tech gear, it requires a bit more thinking and preparation to get everything right. You kind of understand why modern rucksacks have reinforced back and soft shoulder straps. This has neither, so you can't have a mess inside (so a bottle won't poke your back), and for longer hikes when you carry more stuff I do believe that using belt straps (which is why I always wear it over a shirt or sweater, never a jacket or coat) is necessary. If you can manage these two issues, is as useful as any other backpack, but bulletproof and stylish with these amazing leather suspenders.
I love this bag SO much! It’s sturdy and durable and I know I’ll be able to keep it for a long time and get good use out of it. Not to mention it looks cool and stylish. I love the leather shoulder straps

These vintage-style canvas rucksacks hail from Romania, the land of happiness and whimsy. While they look like a 70 year-old design, they were produced in the 1970s and 1980s for the Romanian People's Army.
Not only does this ruck exude vintage class and sex appeal, but they're extremely practical. They're made with durable cotton canvas fabric reinforced by strategically placed leather patches for long-lasting use.
One large internal pouch gives 40 liters of usable space. Closed via drawstring and protected by a sturdy canvas flap, it'll keep your belongings safe and dry inside. Exterior straps allow for you to attach a wool blanket, tarp or poncho without using up valuable interior space.
